The Thirty Day Challenge

I got this idea from Alex Haddox , http://www.alexhaddox.com/practicaldefense.shtml . Rather than having a “diet” that you go on to lose weight, then go off, you pick an unhealthy habit, and work on changing it for thirty days. It is based on the idea that it takes thirty days to establish or eliminate a behavior. So, get rid of fast food for thirty days. Then, when that has become an established habit, tackle the soda. It also gets around the tendency we all have to do “all or nothing” which often results in failure. Most people cannot turn their entire lives around at once. Pick one habit at a time, and at the end of the year…. you’re amazed at the results.
